about the school counselorHello! My name is Jacqueline Coplen and I am the school counselor at Madison Elementary.
My mission as a school counselor is to create an environment where every student feels safe, heard, and encouraged. I accomplish this by taking preventative measures to ensure that students are successful by teaching social and emotional awareness, academic skills, and college and career readiness. I am so happy to be starting my third year with Norman Public Schools. I received my master's degree from Northeastern State University. Before accepting the position at Madison, I worked in rural schools in Osage County. I am passionate about providing equitable opportunities for all students. On my website you can find community resources, information about what I'm doing, and more! |

About school counselingAs the school counselor I am here to support your student's social, emotional, and academic needs. I can meet with students individually or in small groups and I also teach classroom guidance lessons for every grade. I work closely with parents, teachers, and the administration to make sure that Madison Elementary is a positive place where all students feel safe, accepted, and ready to learn.
